Welcome to our home, which has something to offer for all ages and for all seasons, whether it is relaxing with the family or entertaining friends.
Enjoying the lake can be done from a variety of decks, from the long shore line, from the dock or even from the back deck which overlooks beautiful flower beds and the woods.
The lot was developed by the former owners in the late 50's with the construction of a small cottage which was by boat access only. As a result, this property is located on one of Charleston Lake’s prime areas for it provides wonderful exposure to lake views and excellent swimming.
A new cottage, 30 x 48 ft. with a full basement, was constructed in 1987; it became our all-year-round home in 1993. Since then, it has been totally renovated to include a new deck and stairs, rolled PVC blinds, Berber carpets, laminate floors, and much more.
All the amenities, either for seasonal or year-round, are present: a well, septic system, water softener, propane furnace, air conditioner and fireplaces, Vermont Casting wood stove, central vac, whirlpool tub, and Miele appliances.
Access
Access is by a 3 km private lane, which is maintained by all 34 owners and is in excellent condition, one of the best on the Lake.
Driving to the property is a sheer delight. The first part goes by fields; then the road enters into an old pine forest where fairies live (according to our granddaughter). The last section consists of a young deciduous forest, where in the springtime one drives through a kilometer of trilliums, while in the fall it becomes a golden wonderland.
From the deck, there is easy access to the boat house. This boat house has plenty of history, having been built by a few of the NHL hockey players from the 1960s. The boat house has an electric lift that can hold a 20 ft pontoon boat.
